What is a Placement Test?
A placement test gives us information about where you stand in your language education. Usually we use online placement tests. If an online placement test is not available in the requested language, the assessment takes place in the first lesson.
Most tests are online and are handy to fill out. If only a speaking test is required we can do oral placement tests on the phone or via video chat. To determine a level we use the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Why do I need to take a placement test?
It will give us important information about the students knowledge of grammar and vocabulary. We need this information in order to make the following decisions:
- which teacher to choose for your course
- what to include or exclude in the course plan
- which books and materials to choose
- set a time frame for your aims
If you are not a complete beginner, we highly recommend you fill out a placement test before starting a course.
